2007-2008
The Clyde Valley Blackhawks were first formed as a senior team (18+) in 2007, by the previous coaches players and staff of the successful youth team, the Clyde Valley Hawks. After the decision was made to continue the teams legacy of the organisation within a different age bracket.
2008-2009
Led by head coach David Czekella (former offensive co-ordinator of the Clyde Valley Hawks) the Blackhawks joined the British American Football Associations National League as affiliates for the 2008 season, with ambitions to gain entry into division 2 of the national leagues as an associate for the 2009 season.
2009-2014
After a successful affiliate season the Blackhawks were successfully inducted into the national league in 2009. A season in which ended with statement record of 6-4 for the first official season.
This success continued from 2009 through to 2014, in which the Blackhawks won the division 2 north conference championship gaining promotion to division 1 for the first time since inception in 2007.
2015-2016
During the first season within division 1 the Blackhawks finished the season middle of the table in the standings.
Despite this the Blackhawks faced turmoil which led to withdrawal from the league for the 2016 season and voluntary demotion to associate status with BAFA.
2017-2019
A year of consolidation and growth led by head coach Richard Orr and chairman Gary Orr the Blackhawks were successfully re-admitted into the BAFA national leagues in which they competed in the division 2 NFC North division.
The Blackhawks remained in this division competing fiercely with opponents from across the United Kingdoms from re-entry in 2017 until the end of the season in 2019 culminating in the wining of NFC2 North title. Leading to the team reaching playoffs sadly falling just short of the final with a 21-6 loss to the Halton Spartans semi finals.
2020
Sadly COVID-19 halted sports within Scotland and prevented the 2020 season from being played.
2021
Following the re-instatement of sports in Scotland, a condensed 2021 season seeing an all Scottish division and reduced number of games, the Blackhawks were excited to return to play re-uniting to play the sport we all love.
2022
The 2022 season saw a full return to play for the Blackhawks with a full season to compete in, against familiar rivals from across Scotland. The division was highly contested by all teams with the vast majority of Blackhawks games being won within one score.
